Magnificent oil on canvas painting of a winter scene by German artist Carl Schaette. Signed lower right “Schaette, Muenchen”. The condition of the painting is very good. The painting is framed in its original bonzine-covered frame. The total dimensions of the framed painting are 114 cm by 83 cm. Provenance: a Dutch collection.
Carl Schaette (1884 - 1951) lived and worked in Germany. Carl Schaette is known for his landscapes and belonged to the Munich School.
Schaette preferred to paint realistic depictions of moorland and mountain landscapes through the seasons.
