A twentieth-century Italian landscape painting in the convincing style of the Old Masters, framed, an impressive 91 x 60 cm (with frame 121 * !à cm), signed lower left by TONI BORDIGNON (b. 1921), a painter renowned for his Old Master style.
Toni Bordignon was born in Treviso in 1921. During his art studies, he learned the style and technique of the great Venetian painter Guglielmo Ciardi, and was inspired by the subjects of his paintings, those of the Venetian lagoon and the Treviso countryside. It is precisely landscapes brimming with nature that pervade the artist's paintings. Toni Bordignon's style is characterized by brushstrokes that leave small splashes of color that, when brought together, create a great visual effect, not forgetting the water rendered magnificently with all its reflections. The moods evoked are poetic.
